Frigidaire Dishwasher Error Codes

Frigidaire dishwashers show an i-code (or UO/CL) when the control detects a problem. Here's what each one means and how to respond.

i10

Means: Water level too low — the dishwasher is not getting enough water.

Fix: Check that the supply valve under the sink is fully open and the fill hose isn't kinked. Clean the inlet screen; if water still won't fill, test the water-inlet valve.

i20

Means: Unit did not drain properly.

Fix: Clean the filters and the drain pump area, check the drain hose for kinks or clogs, and make sure the air gap/disposer connection is clear. This is the most common Frigidaire dishwasher code.

i30

Means: Water is leaking into the base — the anti-flood/leak switch tripped.

Fix: Stop the cycle and look for leaks at the hoses, pump seals, and door gasket. Dry the base pan; the code stays until the base is dry and the leak is fixed.

i40

Means: Drain line restricted or filters clogged.

Fix: Remove and rinse the filters, then clear the drain hose and check-valve. i40 usually clears once the restriction is removed.

iC0

Means: Electronic control / communication fault.

Fix: Turn off power to the dishwasher for about 5 minutes to reset the control. If iC0 returns, the control board (or its wiring) needs a technician.

UO

Means: Vent assembly fault — the control sees the vent plunger open when it shouldn't be.

Fix: Inspect the vent assembly and its wiring at the door; a stuck or failed vent usually needs replacement.

CL

Means: Door is not latched.

Fix: Push the door firmly shut until the latch clicks. If CL persists with the door closed, the door latch switch is faulty.

FAQ

What does i20 mean on a Frigidaire dishwasher?

i20 means the dishwasher did not drain properly. Clean the filters and drain pump, check the drain hose for kinks or clogs, and confirm the air gap or disposer connection is clear. Most i20 faults are a clogged filter or a blocked drain line.

How do I reset a Frigidaire dishwasher?

Cut power at the breaker (or unplug) for about 5 minutes, then restore it. This resets the control and clears temporary i-codes; a code that returns means the underlying fault is still present.
