Samsung dryers flash a letter code when they can't finish a cycle or won't heat. Find yours below with the meaning and the first fix to try.
HE / hE
Means: Heating error — the dryer isn't reaching temperature.
Fix: Clean the lint screen and the full vent to the outside. If airflow is clear, the heating element or a thermostat has likely failed and needs replacing.
tS / tO
Means: Temperature sensor (thermistor) short or open.
Fix: Check the thermistor wiring harness for a loose or corroded connector; if the reading is out of range, replace the thermistor.
dF
Means: Door lock failure on models with an electronic latch.
Fix: Make sure no laundry is caught in the door. Inspect the latch and door switch; replace the latch assembly if it's damaged.
dC
Means: Door error — the door won't stay closed or latch.
Fix: Close the door firmly until it clicks. Check the strike and hinge alignment; a worn latch or switch is the usual cause.
